USA Open Championships

On Sunday 17th May three Khalsa Champion students went to compete in the USA Open Karate Championships in Birmingham.

Zuko Robb was the first to fight and made it through to the second round beating his first opponent 4-1. His second fight although he fought really well was beaten by a more experienced fighter the scores being 1-5. Considering this was his second competition he done really well. Rachel Eagleton was up next completing two fights in total winning both 4-2 and 5-2 gaining a gold medal in her category. Lastly was Katie Maycock who also had two opponents winning 8-0 on her first fight and lost her final fight 1-9 gaining a silver medal. Big thank you to Lesley, Robbie and Rob who were a great support on the day.

Sensei Sat commented "The small squad of three went to the competition with no sensei and still performed magnificently! For all three this was about there 3rd ever comp and have again nearly all medalled every time. I would like to thank my small squad for performing and coach Gerald Robb. Lesley Phillips and Robert Eagleton for supporting and representing the club!"
