Uechi Ryu and Khalsa Champions Squad Training

Sunday 23rd September saw 15-20 members of Uechi Ryu travel from Essex all the way to Kingston to train with Khalsa Champions!!

The day was organized by Sensei Dean and Sensei Sat, to help improve the squad and to train with other students of similar standard.

The course started with Sensei Sat asking everyone to fight off followed by pulling and distance closing. Sensei Dean carried on the with basics by showing everyone the step gyak, with realistic distance and low stances. After a quick water break Sensei Sat carried on the session with reaction attacks, which allowed Sensei Dean to finish the attack by sweeps, and throws (which was fantastic).

The course ended with everyone fighting off and implementing what they did from the course.

Sensei Sat commented "For the club this was a fantastic opportunity to train and have Sensei Dean's club down! Sensei Dean has not only competed but trained with the best and Uechi-Ryu, are well re-knowned to produce the best!! What i really enjoyed was the atmosphere whereby everyone seemed to work hard, have fun but still have the element of aggression with control. Looking forward to another session and round 2!!
